THE PIRRELLO FOUNDATION AND VISION HOMES USA INCREASES ITS OVERALL CONTRIBUTION IN SUPPORT OF BISHOP VEROT ATHLETIC PROGRAMS TO $50,000
FORT MYERS, FLORIDA, February 22, 2007 – The Pirrello Foundation, along with Vision Homes USA, announced it has increased its total contribution in support of Bishop Verot High School’s sports programs to $50,000 with its most recent gift of $10,000. Bishop Verot High School, located in Fort Myers, Florida, is a co-educational Roman Catholic high school.
The foundation’s most recent gift provides support for three of the school’s athletic programs, including boy’s lacrosse, the newly formed girl’s lacrosse program and varsity baseball.
“This is our third year funding the boy’s Viking lacrosse program. My wife, Debra, and I are truly excited about the progress the program has made during these three years,” said Jamie Pirrello, President of the Pirrello Foundation. “Thirty-two young men now have the opportunity to participate in a sport that is relatively new to southwest Florida with the ability to experience the benefits of team work, dedication and commitment. When the opportunity presented itself to help support the newly formed girl’s program we were very happy to do so,” Pirrello continued.
“Bishop Verot High School has a rich history of academic and athletic excellence. It is our strong belief that academic and athletic excellence goes hand in hand. It is this belief that led Jamie and I to establish the foundation. We are happy we can provide a small level of support to a fine school with such a rich history,” Debra Pirrello stated.
In addition to Bishop Verot High School, recent recipients of gifts from the Pirrello Foundation include Pepperdine University, Malibu, California; Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania; Verona High School, Verona, New Jersey; Voices for Kids, Fort Myers, Florida; Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Maryland; the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
